Fly to Mackinac Island
Voted “one of the top 10 islands in the world” by Conde Nast Traveler. Mackinac Island is located in Lake Huron between Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas. The island airport has a 3,500-foot paved runway for all types of small aircraft. Mackinac Island State Park covers approximately 80 percent of the island. Mackinac Island also includes Fort Mackinac as well as the island’s historic downtown and harbor. Visitors are not permitted to camp on the island, but numerous hotels and bed and breakfasts are available for a comfortable stay.

DHC-6 Twin Otter Over Water
The DHC-6 Twin Otter is a 19-passenger STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) utility aircraft developed by de Havilland Canada. Due to its high rate of climb and STOL abilities this twin aircraft is perfect for cargo, regional passenger, commercial skydiving and MEDEVAC operations. The DHC-6 Twin Otter is flying along the south coast of Ellesmere Island. Ellesmere Island is the world’s tenth largest island and Canada’s third largest island. This large mountainous island is part of the Qikiqtaaluk Region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut.
Grob Twin Astir Cockpit Above the Alps
The Grob Twin Astir was developed in Germany in the 1970s by Grob Aircraft AGas. This sailplane took flight in 1976 and remained in production till 1980 before it was updated to the Grob Twin Astir II. During its production, 291 Grob Twin Astir gliders where built.

Request approved, the CNN News photographer quickly used a cell phone to call the local airport to charter a flight.
He was told a twin-engine plane would be waiting at the airport.
Arriving at the airfield, he spotted a plane warming up outside a hanger.
He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and shouted, ‘Let’s go’.
The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind and took off.
Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, ‘Fly over Flaming Gorge and make low passes so I can take pictures of the reservoir and canyon walls.’
‘Why?’ asked the pilot.
‘Because I’m a photographer for CNN’, he responded, ‘and I need to get some close up shots.’
The pilot was strangely silent for a moment, finally stammered, ‘So, what you’re telling me, is . . . You’re NOT my flight instructor?’

Travel Air 4000 In Flight
Travel Air Manufacturing Company produced more aircraft during the period from 1924-1929 than any other aircraft manufacturer. Introduced in 1925, around 1,300 Travel Air biplanes were produced by 1930. The primary uses of these antique planes were for private owners and aerial sightseeing businesses. The Travel Air 2000/3000/4000 originally, the Model A, Model B and Model BH, were renamed after the 1929 purchase of Travel Air by Curtiss-Wright to names CW-14, Speedwing, Sportsman and Osprey.
Robinson R22 Helicopter in Ireland
The Robinson R22 is a two-bladed, single-engine light utility and trainer helicopter produced by Robinson Helicopter. Since the R22’s introduction in the later 70s, there have been over 4000 of these two seated helicopters in operation by many private individuals, companies and flying clubs.

Falling from the sky
Great views, no engines and the only sound heard is the air passing by the Polish Puchacz glider. The Puchacz was introduced to the aviation market in 1979 and meets both OSTIV and JAR-22 Utility Category certification requirements. The Puchacz is approved for extended aerobatics including inverted flight and rolling manoeuvres. The SZD-50 has a tandem seating for the two occupants with the front seat used for solo flights.

Cessna 170B Cockpit
Cessna 170’s were introduced in 1948, however the Cessna 170B was built between 1952 and 1956. The Cessna 170 is equipped with conventional landing gear, which trickier to land than tricycle landing gear. Over 5,000 Cessna 170s were built and over 2,000 are still in service today. Once the Cessna 172 was introduced the 170’s production soon halted.

Flying a Steerman
Stearman Aircraft Corporation was an aircraft manufacturer in Wichita, Kansas. In 1934 the aircraft manufacturer became a subsidiary of Boeing. Although the Stearman Aircraft produced a range aircraft, it is most known for designing the Model 75, commonly known as the “Stearman” or “Boeing Stearman”. The Stearman (Boeing) Model 75 is a biplane that was used as a military trainer aircraft. At least 9,783 were built in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s. The sound of the Stearman plane stands out from similar aircraft and is considered something of a trademark. Post war the Stearman was used as a crop duster and a sport plane. Today many hundred Stearmans are flown by private owners.

Nanchang CJ-6 Dives Deep & Rolls Over
Introduced in 1960 the Nanchang CJ-6 is a two seat primary trainer aircraft, powered by a 260-hp Zhuzhou Huosai HS-6 radial piston engine. A common, but mistaken, belief is that the CJ-6 is a Chinese version of the Yakovlev Yak-18A. The CJ-6A, an improved 285 horse version, is a popular hobby plane. A CJ-6 can cost as little as $75,000 in the US resale market. The aircraft appears on the civil register of the USA, Australia, UK, South Africa and other countries.
Cessna L-19 “Bird Dog”
Bird Dog Cessna L-19 was manufactured in the 1950s and 60’s. 3,431 were built and 120 some are still airworthy today.
